While Arkansas’ football program soared in the 1960s, the basketball team floundered then flat-lined. The two were mirror opposites. The gridiron Razorbacks went to seven bowl games in the decade, won or shared five SWC titles and captured the 1964 national championship. Meanwhile, the basketball squad in the 1960s failed to make any postseason tournament, never finished higher than third in the SWC and posted just two winning seasons in league play.
